1.2.1. Week 1 - 8/25¶
Agenda for this week:
This week is both an introduction to how things work in the class and to MATLAB programming. Be sure to download the zip file with source code from Canvas. Familiarize yourself with how to get around in the study guide. An easy to remember the URL for the study guide is timbower.us. From there, select Applied Data Analysis and Tools. Also, be sure to create your account on MATLAB Grader. If you do not see an e-mail inviting you join the course on MATLAB Grader, check your e-mail spam folder.
The level of difficulty for the chapter on MATLAB programming varies by how much prior programming experience you have. If you already know the basics of programming from resources, such as CMST 302, then you can probably skim the material and sample the recordings. If you have limited programming experience, then be sure to watch all of the videos. The video are fairly short, with each video covering only one topic. The total length of the lecture videos for this week is 64:27.
Each week in class, I will discuss the homework and attendance quizzes at least enough to get you started. Most of those discussions will be on Fridays, which is our longer class period for “lab”.
